USA Gymnastics Women's Program launches new coach/athlete development initiatives
Participation in these workshops provides you with USA Gymnastics University Credits.
The USA Gymnastics Women's program is pleased to announce the launch of several new coaching development initiatives in 2008.
All of the following are scheduled at the National Training Center (Karolyi Camp) in Texas.

2008 Women's J.O. Compulsory Level Training Camp
- The focus of this camp will be on preparation and training of the J.O. compulsory program and tips for athlete preparation.
- The athletes (and their coaches) will learn tips from the experts. "This is like attending a National Compulsory Workshop for the athletes."
- This J.O. Compulsory Training Camp will be open for all Levels 4-6 athletes. (Min. age is 9 in the calendar year).
- Women's J.O. Committee members and other National Team Coaches will staff the camp.
- Coaching lectures and athlete activities will be held in the evenings.
Tentative schedule / Fees:
- Tues., May 27 – Arrivals, check-in, evening training.
- May 28-29 – Training at the National Training Center
- Fri., May 30 – Departures in the afternoon after morning training and lunch.
- Costs for each coach and athlete:
Clinic fee = $200 – Room and board = $225
Total for each coach and each athlete = $425

2008 Women's J.O. Coaches' Basic Spotting Clinic
- Coaches: The clinic is recommended for class instructors and compulsory team coaches.
- Athletes: USA Gymnastics athletes Levels 4 to 6. (Min. age is 9 years in the calendar year.)
- Goals: This spotting camp is intended to assist coaches in improving their spotting technique for compulsory skills and other basic skills such as basic saltos in Tumbling, FFs on Beam, circles (clear hips and giants) and flyaway dismounts on UB, etc.
- Coaches bring their own athletes who will participate in the training sessions. Coaching lectures will be conducted in the evening.
- The staff will include high level coaches.
- Space is limited... enroll now!
Tentative schedule:
- Sat., May 31 - Arrivals, check-in, evening training.
- June 1-2 - Training at the National Training Center
- Tue., June 3 - Departures in the afternoon after morning training and lunch.
- Costs for each coach and athlete:

2008 Women's J.O. Level 10 Training Camp
- Qualification to this camp will be determined at the J.O. Committee meeting in May.
- Purpose: Provide the top athletes in our J.O. program with an opportunity to work with high level coaches to prepare for the Elite level. Additionally, their coaches will be provided with an environment conducive to learning.
Tentative schedule / Fees
- Thurs., Oct. 30 - Arrivals, check-in, evening training.
- Oct. 31-Nov. 1 - Training at the National Training Center
- Sun., Nov. 4 - Departures in the afternoon after morning training and lunch.
- Costs for each coach and athlete:
Clinic fee= $200 – Room and board* = $225 – Total cost = $425

008 Women's High Performance Coaching Seminar
- This 4-day High Performance Coaching Seminar will be conducted at one of the Women's National Team Training Camps.
- This is a COACHES ONLY camp for high level coaches aspiring to the elite level.
- Lectures will be conducted in the morning and evening. In the afternoon the coaches will observe the National Team training sessions.
Accommodations:
- The coaches will NOT have accommodations at the Karolyi Ranch. Information on recommended area hotels will be provided.
Tentative schedule / Fees:
- Wed. Nov. 12 - Arrivals, check-in, evening session orientation session.
- Nov. 13-15 - Sessions at the National Training Center
- Sun., Nov.16 - Departures in the afternoon after morning session(s) and lunch.
- Total cost for each coach = $500
